5 Stars Fantastic beer making kit……..
I bought this kit for my daughter and her husband. They were thrilled with the prospect of making their own beer and had been thinking of doing it for some time. They loved the kit and how simple it was and how well clarified everything was. Time will tell if they like the beer, as well–I (and they) are assuming they will.
5 Stars Simple to use, tasty beer!
I just made my first batch of lager beer at home, and it was a complete success due to the brilliant quality of this kit. The instructions are simple to know, and the kit includes everything you need, including bottles and lids. If you need help, there is an 800 number to call. The beer itself tastes as excellent as any draft or bottled beer, if not better.
The only problem I had this this kit was keeping the temperature high enough for fermentation. We keep our house cool in the winter, and the beer requires a temperature of around 75F. I solved the problem by setting up a goose necked desk lamp next to the barrel, and then the beer really started fermenting.
I recommend this kit to anyone who wants to try brewing beer at home. The original cost of the kit seems high, but over time it will pay for itself, and the parts won’t wear out.
Coopers sells the ingredients for many types of beer, which can all be made with the barrel and bottles from this starter kit. Next on my list is to try making an IPA (India Pale Ale).

I’m still drinking my first batch but I like it.Pretty straight forward instructions,I did have to buy a heat belt to keep the wort warm as I made it in my basement in March,in Michigan!It was only 20$ and maintained a constant temp. for the entire fermenting process.I am looking now for my next batch,will probably go with an IPA,,,I highly recommend Coopers products!
5 Stars Fantastic starter kit!
I am so glad we bought this kit. It’s a fantastic way to get into brewing your own beers at home. The “hopped” extract included is okay and is excellent to use for your first attempt at making beer but what’s fantastic is the incredibly large fermenting jug this thing comes with. We now go to our local beer brewing store for our own hops, grains, etc. We’re now making our own beer from scratch and still use the fermenting jug in this kit. This kit is worth it for the fermenting jug alone.
